Dr. Siti Inarah binti Hasim @ Hashim

Dr. Siti Inarah Hasim is a clinical psychologist, lecturer, and researcher who is passionate about supporting mental health, parenting, and family well-being in Malaysia. She serves as a Lecturer at the Department of Psychology, AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Since joining in 2019, she has taught and supervised students while also contributing as an ordinary board member of the Malaysian Marriage and Family Therapy Association (MyMFT), where she supports efforts to grow the field of marriage and family therapy.

Her professional journey bridges medicine and psychology. After first training as a medical doctor (MBBS, Universiti Malaya), she pursued her growing interest in mental health, earning a Master of Human Sciences in Psychology at IIUM and continuing with a PhD in Psychology. She is currently working on her doctoral research, which explores the development of the “Islamic Mindful Parenting for Parents with Atypical Children (IMPPAC) Framework and Module”. This project brings together clinical psychology, mindfulness, and Islamic perspectives to address the needs of parents raising children with atypical development.

Her work spans clinical psychology, mindfulness, parenting, family well-being, and test validation. She is also actively involved in further training and gaining experience to strengthen her expertise in systemic approaches to mental health.

She is gradually building her publication record and has shared her research on mindful parenting and family well-being at both local and international platforms. She is also engaged as a reviewer for academic manuscripts, provides clinical supervision for postgraduate trainees, and offers ongoing clinical psychology services through the Psychological Services Unit (PSU) at IIUM.

As an educator, she teaches courses such as Personality Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, and others, with a focus on preparing students to connect theory with practice while remaining sensitive to cultural and spiritual contexts.
