Ms. Lim Maureen

Honorary Secretary

Maureen is a clinical psychologist who graduated in 2007 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). In the early years of her career, she worked at a hospice, accompanying terminally ill cancer patients and their families. She also served as a part-time lecturer in psychology at local higher education institutions, gaining valuable experience in both companionship and knowledge-sharing. She is also a certified permanent trainer for the NBCC-i Mental Health Facilitator Program (USA).

Since 2014, Maureen has been deeply engaged in the study of the Satir Growth Model. For her, this journey has been more than a professional pursuit—it has been a path of looking inward and grounding herself in life. Through clinical work, teaching, and everyday living, she continuously integrates and applies what she has learned, finding in each internal dialogue and human encounter a more authentic and stable sense of self.

She firmly believes that growth is not about reaching a state of perfection, but about learning to stand steadily in one’s own place amid the flow of life—gently, yet with unwavering presence. This belief quietly underlies her work in accompanying others.

Currently, Maureen provides psychotherapy services at a private hospital and runs a small practice that focuses on personal development, family relationships, and integrated mental health education. She is also actively involved in supporting clinical psychology internship programs, with the hope that mental health care can steadily find its place within a broader social context.
